The music program at Norfield has something for everyone. We welcome new participants. Come join us!
The Sanctuary Choir offers anthems in worship each Sunday morning. The choir rehearses on Sundays from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. and after church from 11:15 until noon. All who like to sing are welcome, from age 14 up. Several times a year, the choir presents special music in worship with instrumental accompaniment, as well as concerts on Sunday afternoons. Please contact David Connell at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the church office.
Music Makers Ministry is our special program for children from Preschool through 6th grade, offered each Wednesday during the school year. We follow the Weston school schedule (when Weston schools are on vacation or closed due to weather, so are we). Children in Weston schools can sign up with Dismissal Manager and come directly from school on the Number 3 bus! Snacks are provided so the children have the energy to sing and play their best. We end with a community dinner in the Parish Hall at 5:30, open to the whole family.
Cherub Choir is open to all children pre-school age through Kindergarten. The choir plays instruments and sings with Marcia Louis during our Wednesday afternoon program. They also have fun with story time, drawing, yoga and much more, led by a team of wonderful volunteers.
Alleluia Choir is open to all children in grades 1 through 3. The choir begins with instrument time, led by Ellen Dickinson, working with rhythm instruments, chimes, and more. Then they sing with David Connell, preparing for adding music to Sunday worship services.
Rejoice Choir is open to all children in grades 4 through 6. The choir begins with instruments, working with David Connell, exploring chords and rhythms, and then works on singing with Ellen Dickinson, preparing for Sunday worship services.
The Memorial Handbell Choir rehearses on Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. and presents special music in church about once a month. Several times a year, the handbell choir plays with the other choirs or instruments, and as an accompaniment to hymns. The Memorial Handbell Choir plays five octaves of Malmark handbells and six octaves of handchimes. We welcome new ringers! The ability to read music is helpful but not required. Please contact email@example.com for more info.
